The Blue Water Task Force isn’t the only community-based organization engaged in water quality monitoring. The Task Force is part of a larger network of non-profits committed to preserving and protecting our nation’s rivers. Recently, the program where I gained experience with bio-monitoring as a high school student, the Upper Merrimack River Local Advisory Committee’s (UMRLAC) volunteer monitoring program, made headlines in the Concord Monitor. Featured in the one of the photos is my dad: Gary Lynn, exhibiting exemplary benthic macroinvertebrate sorting technique.
