Voice of the River

New Ways to Get Involved with the Gallatin

by | Jan 26, 2026 | Advocacy & Outreach

The Gallatin River is the heart of our community and our mission to protect it has always been powered by people like you. As we look toward the year ahead, we are excited to open up more ways for our neighbors, experts, and river-lovers to play a direct role in our work through our Program and Mission Support Committees.

These committees are designed to bring more voices to the table, ensuring our projects are shaped by the communities they serve. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or looking for a new way to give back, there’s a place for you to dive in. This is a volunteer position.

Why Join a Committee?

Joining a committee is a great way to use your unique skills to help the Gallatin thrive. By getting involved, you help us:

  • Share Expertise. Bring your professional “eyes” to our science and restoration plans.
  • Support Sustainability. Help us develop the resources needed to keep our programs running for years to come.
  • Stay Connected. Help us foster even stronger ties between the Task Force and the local community.

Find the Right Fit for Your Skills

We’ve created several ways to get involved, depending on your interests and professional background:

  • Water Science: Help review technical reports and support our data analysis to keep our science world-class.
  • Restoration: Provide strategic guidance on restoration projects and help us secure the support needed to bring these projects to life.
  • Water Conservation: Collaborate with local partners to help align water conservation goals across our community.
  • Community Engagement: Help us find new ways to be visible and active across all the communities surrounding the Upper Gallatin.
  • Communications: Lend your creative talents and marketing skills to projects that help tell the story of the river.
  • Hooked on the Gallatin: Join the team behind our signature event to help with logistics, planning, and sponsorships.

Ready to Get Involved?

If you’re passionate about the health of the Gallatin and want to share your expertise to make a tangible difference, we’d love to have you on board. These committees are a fantastic way to provide strategic guidance and stay closely connected to the work happening for the river.

Have questions? I’d love to chat. Reach out to me at emily@gallatinrviertaskforce.org to learn more about how you can help the Gallatin thrive.
