Purple Pipe Makes a Key Connection

Last month, a significant water conservation link was installed in Big Sky. Through a multi-year collaborative effort between Big Sky Water and Sewer District, Lone Mountain Land Company, Big Sky Resort, Big Sky Community Organization, and led by the Gallatin River Task Force, the “Purple Pipe” project connects water infrastructure in Town Center (including BASE) to the Big Sky Water and Sewer District wastewater reuse system through a newly installed pipe under Highway 64.

Funded by Big Sky Resort Area District, this new system will replace 2.6 million gallons of potable water being used for irrigation with highly treated wastewater effluent.
