Voice of the River

Join Us for the 2017 Upper Gallatin River Clean Up

We invite you to join the Gallatin River Task Force for the Annual Upper Gallatin River Clean Up on Thursday, August 31st, 2017 at 2 PM. Each year, the Task Force and volunteers meet at the Big Sky Community Park River Pavilion for clean up assignments, disperse to river access points in Gallatin Canyon, and pick up trash. The group returns with their trash to the Community Park around 5 PM for a free barbecue and beer courtesy of Lone Peak Brewery.

This year, the river cleanup will be bigger and better than ever with sweet prizes and new volunteer opportunities! The individual who collects the most unique item will win an RCTIC cooler donated by the RMR Group, and the team that collects the most garbage will be awarded Gallatin River Task Force hats.

The Gallatin River Task Force is seeking volunteer leaders to commit in advance to attending the river cleanup. Leaders will be responsible for recruiting teams of 4 to 6 people to focus on high traffic river access points. Volunteers can choose their favorite river access point, and will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.

The 2017 River Cleanup is supported by the Big Sky Area Resort Tax District, Lone Peak Brewery, and the RMR Group. A huge thanks to the Big Sky Community Organization for renting the River Pavilion free of charge.
