Voice of the River

What’s the (Give) Big Deal?

I love fly fishing…It kept me from going crazy.” – Mark Robins, the Hungry Moose Market & Deli

We love rivers, especially the Gallatin River.

Whether you spend your days chasing adrenaline-charged rides through rowdy waters or pursuing the perfect cast into a deep pool, we hope you agree that the Gallatin is a world-class river.

At the Gallatin River Task Force, we envision a healthy Gallatin River Watershed for future generations. On Tuesday, May 3rd, we invite you to become a part of our vision.

Next Tuesday, the Bozeman Area Community Foundation offers the residents in our valley the opportunity to participate in Give Big Gallatin Valley, a spin-off of Give Local America, a national day of giving.

Give Local America is a nationwide movement tasked with connecting people from all generations and walks of life to philanthropy and causes that matter to them.

Every community across the nation has unique needs that government services and taxpayer dollars are unable to satisfy. Nonprofit organizations, like the Gallatin River Task Force, Thrive, Women In Action, and so many more, fill gaps in our communities. As community members, it is our responsibility to vote with our dollars and support the causes that matter to us as individuals, and matter to the community-at-large.

Give Local America is like Election Day for nonprofits, with the exception that there are no losers. And we promise that your vote will make a difference!

We encourage you to give big, give often, and give local.
